Jelenov greben is a family business of the Je\u017eovnik family.<\/p>

At the Jelenov greben homestead, which is located only a few tens of meters above the Olimje monastery with the famous third oldest pharmacy in Europe, a varied tourist offer has been added for many years.<\/p>

First, fallow deer and mouflons run towards you, but if they are perhaps hesitant, their master calls them with an affectionate name: "Pika, Piki...", and they are given corn as a treat.\u00a0<\/p>

In Olimje, where the story of a successful family business is being written today, there was a farm with cows and a small vineyard about three decades ago. At the time, 18-year-old Borut Je\u017eovnik inherited the farm from his grandfather Ivan Amon. Due to the large grassy areas, Borut sold the cattle and he and his wife Asuna bought the first fallow deer from Brioni to graze the areas that were not suitable for processing with machines.<\/span><\/p>

Many people remember the beginnings of Jelenov greben as growing mushrooms, canned goods, and compost. Slowly but steadily, the trade in local products grew, for which we are now recognizable in many places.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

At the request of passing guests, we began preparing the mushrooms we grew for tasting. So we built a tavern on the site of the original stable. Today, this is where a restaurant and caf\u00e9 stand.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The restaurant is famous for its top-notch game and mushroom specialties, complemented by traditional Slovenian flavors and novelties. The restaurant on the ground floor is complemented by a caf\u00e9 with a varied offer of homemade juices, homemade brandies, desserts and ice cream, which are prepared daily in our own pastry shop.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In 2021, we opened the new Piki Tourist Center for visitors, where you can see through the windows the production of homemade products from the \u017eganjekuha, a wooden CNC studio, a biscuit and jam kitchen, a laser cutting and engraving studio, a packaging room for homemade products, a ceramic studio, a drying room for cured meat products, a filling line for homemade juices, and a honey tap. The circular tour ends in a tasting room with a tasting and a shop with homemade delicacies.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In 2024, we opened the new Jelen rooms in the heart of our homestead with a touch of homeliness and warmth.\u00a0<\/span>They are furnished with natural materials, warm tones and state-of-the-art ventilation technology.
